I found this website today, it looks good & they ship to the UK (with reasonable shipping costs, up to 4 yards of fabric for under $12.00). I have been buying from the US but the bigger sites have increased their shipping costs recently. I know it is expensive to ship things but sometimes they just overprice the shipping to put international buyers off I'm sure! Some have a set shipping price of $30 - $40 dollars which is fine if you want lots of fabric but no good if you only require a couple of yards. However, I am not complaining because the choice is fantastic compared to the UK and it is usually half the price for the fabric in the first place, so this balances out the shipping.
Another site I found was isew which is UK based. At last something about sewing that is up-to-date and based in the UK! I will be joining the forum later. Lots of ideas & tips. Great.
Hi Lol ... I like the look of that Isew site - I've bookmarked. Thanks for that!

Nice sites thanks for telling us. I'm a bit unsure about buying from the US, apart from keeping an eye on the postage I'm concerned that I'll get hammered with duties. Perhaps I'll give it a go having read your post.
Speak soon (busy busy)

Hello,
Thanks for sharing this. Samantha at Plump Pudding gave me the following link to a blog post that is really useful for sourcing fabrics:
http://treefalldesign.typepad.com/tree_fall/fabric-an.html
It is always good to be able to buy from a recommended source, so I thought you may be interested. I know that many of the sites are U.S. based, but the shipping charges are reasonable.

If you see a print you like, let me know & I'll see if I can pick it up locally! I'd be happy to mail to you, I'm sure postage would be cheaper that way!! :D

While we are on this subject - I ordered from Reprodepot for the first time a few weeks ago - I didnt hear anything and I thought I must have done something wrong. However last night, I received a parcel from them. Goods and postage cost $55 ($11 of this was postage) and I had to pay £11.60 duty at the post office which I hadnt taken into consideration. The sticker on the package daid that you have to pay duty if the goods are over $35. I didnt realise this when I ordered. Ive also ordered loads from equilter (as I thought the Reprodepot stuff wasnt coming!!)so I dread to think how much duty I will have to pay on that. Oh well - lesson learned and the fabric is truly beautiful - but hubby is starting to wonder whats going on!!!
