*this post was written yesterday but I couldn't upload the pictures for some reason - so i am posting it a day later
I've missed our weekends at the coast so much. We never go more than a month during the winter without visiting the caravan but it's been 9 weeks due to the lousy weather we've been having. The only thing that usually stops us is the weather during the time travelling to the coast and back. I don't really care what it's like once we are there, we just work round it. Our caravan doesn't have flashy central heating like some do but we have heaters, a gas fire and electric blanket (!)
It was bone chillingly cold when we arrived last night. After negotiating the M62 in torrential rain, nothing was going to keep us away this weekend. Even though we could see our breath in the caravan when we arrived, before long we were all snug and I can't tell you how nice it was to get in the lovely warm, cosy bed. I had the best sleep I've had in a long time.
(Yes I am on a diet and YES I did eat these! whoops...well what can you do, they were in the sale and I love a bargain....blush...but we did have homemade ( very healthy full of vegetables) soup for tea! )
This morning we went into Hornsea to feast on fish and chips. YUM. Also to stock up on supplies and browse the craft shop and charity shops. We had a brisk walk on the beach wrapped in lots of layers, scarves, gloves and hats but as they say here in Yorkshire, by 'eck it wa cold.
Just the kind of weekend needed after a hard working week.
Who could resist fish and chips?!
Glad you had a great relaxing weekend, it must be so good to have your caravan to escape to.

Sounds like you had a great time. I love going to the coast in the winter - good for blowing away the cobwebs.

Got to buy those pressies when you see them I reckon! Although I expect I'll still be buying in December despite this early start!
