We booked ourselves into the Travelodge in Scarborough for Halloween night. We stay here quite a lot, especially in the Autumn/Winter. It is only a 30 minute drive from the caravan taking a lovely scenic route along the coast. It's normally around £70 for a double room (without breakfast) but they have some fabulous offers and we've stayed in the past for as little £10! We can usually find a room for under £40 which I still think is reasonable for a seaside town. Last night we paid £24, what a bargain. The rooms are very basic, but they are clean, modern, comfy and warm. We don't stay in the hotel much so that is all we need. We had a seaview this time too and we even had our own seagull!
Once we'd checked in, we headed down to the seafront for a lovely long (hilly!) walk. It was another beautiful, bright Autumn day, not too cold. We sat on a bench on the sea front and shared a bag of chips. It was still fairly busy, lots of families with kids dressed up for Halloween. MrFuzz had a go at winning a soft toy, without any luck. It was a bit cold for an ice cream though so instead we trotted back up another steep hill and found a cosy coffee shop for a cappucino.
Later, we headed back to the hotel for a quick change before a walk around Scarborough for a few drinks and a bite to eat. There was a lot happening with it being Halloween and also a University town. Students do love Halloween.
It didn't end up being too late a night :) so I was up in time to see the beautiful sunrise. Not bad for November 1st. Can't wait until the next time.
